Pregnancy

Pregnancy During Acupuncture

Pregnancy can be an amazing time in a woman’s life, but it can also come with a lot of aches, pains, nausea, and even vomiting. And worse yet, most medications and Western medicine tools aren’t safe for use during pregnancy.

Maybe you’re currently experiencing nausea and/or vomiting to the point that you can’t even work your job for a full 8 hours a day. Or maybe you have excruciating sciatica that’s making it difficult to move around and function.

Or maybe you’re having an increase in headaches, Charlie Horse/muscle spasms are disturbing your sleep, anxiety is higher than ever, and your doctor said, “Well, you’re pregnant and these things just happen during pregnancy and there’s not much we can do about it…”.

I think pregnant patients should and can expect better care during this joyous and important time of their lives.

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine can be used to treat the following during pregnancy

  • Morning Sickness (nausea and/or vomiting)
  • Hyperemesis
  • Fatigue
  • Lower Back Pain
  • Sciatica
  • Headaches
  • Constipation
  • Muscle Spasms & Charlie Horse Spasms
  • Itchy Skin
  • Heartburn & Acid Reflux
  • Insomnia
  • General Aches and Pains
  • Breeched Position of Fetus
  • Labor Preparation

During your pregnancy, I’ll be working to ensure that we prevent as many problems as possible, but also treat any arising symptoms. I’ll also work on preparing your body for labor and delivery during each trimester.
